Where history meets the present

Söderhamn offers a rich variety of things to see and do. History meets the present, the old and the new come together, resulting in a wealth of cultural activities. The surrounding scenery is magnificent and varied, with plenty of exciting and enjoyable pursuits on offer.

Our best-kept secret is the archipelago, a collection of 500 islands providing ample opportunities for swimming, boating and fishing. This is where you will find fishing villages such as Skärså and Granön, both popular with daytrippers.

Söderhamn's fascinating history is brought to life in museums, folk parks, traditional farmhouses and churches. The farmhouses of Hälsingland are set to become Sweden's next World Heritage Site, foremost among them Erik-Andersgården in Söderala.

The City Hall and surrounding buildings are under a preservation order and are regarded as the finest in Northern Sweden. We also recommend a visit to the Söderhamn F 15 Air Force Museum with its collection of vintage Saab fighter aircraft.
