For over a century now, our seaside town of Hudiksvall has been called "Happy Hudik" (Glada Hudik) because the people here are known for being so open and friendly.   And we who live here today continue to earn that title –  we simply have a lot to be happy about!  From our attractive, unspoiled archipelago and clear, blue lakes to our majestic mountains and mystical, green forests filled with wildlife  –  we have it all, just outside our doorsteps!  Naturally, outdoor activities and adventures are many  - the hardest part is to choose what to do first! 

And did we mention that Hudiksvall is also known for its rich cultural life and folk heritage?  Here we have something for people of all ages, catering to a variety of interests and tastes - music, arts and handicrafts, and dance, just to name a few.   In Hudiksvall, the traditions of old meet the newer trends of today, creating an exciting mix that will carry us proudly into the future.  

The municipality of Hudiksvall in Hälsingland is centrally located on the east coast of Sweden.  Along the coast, you will find the communities of Långvind, Enånger, Njutånger, Iggesund and Hudiksvall, as well as many charming fishing villages along the way that are just waiting to be discovered, by land or by sea.  The inland communities of Forsa, Delsbo, Bjuråker, Norrbo and Svågadalen are known for being cultural centres, actively preserving the unique heritage of this area and sharing it with the rest of the world through activities such as folk festivals, homestead museums, markets, and art exhibitions.  The Hornslandet Peninsula with its own special landscape is a popular area for outdoor recreation and nature experiences - parts of the Hornslandet Peninsula are designated as an eco-park.  The largest of the lakes in the municipality are the Dellen Lakes which were formed in a meteorite crater.  The area surrounding the Dellen Lakes is especially beautiful, with majestic, blue-green mountains providing many breathtaking scenic views over the pristine lakes.
